- The Beatles were enjoying a 30 week spell at the top of the album charts.
- Dr Who and the Daleks hadn’t been broadcast.
- A loaf cost 5 pence or 22 cents and a car cost £2500.
- The ring pull had just been invented.
- Our toilet was downstairs next to the coal cupboard, no-one on our street owned a car and only a few had phones. All windows were single pains of glass and would ice up inside in mid winter.
